Well organized courses
Special Curriculum
Starting from the very basics until the advanced levels, we are teaching all the necessary techniques and knowledge required for making pottery. There are several pottery shops without appropriate teaching programs, of uncertain quality, and shops that often let their students do everything by themselves. But we in Saideigama have a very well organized curriculum. Students coming from other pottery schools, often say that Saideigama’s students become skilled in pottery very fast.
Videos
Besides from written instructions, there are several available videos for anyone to see at his/her convenience for revision and practice purposes (video sample). Moreover, apart from a seasonal based curriculum we have prepared a variety of seasonal themes too. Also everything is easily accessible from your home through the internet.
A variety of beautiful glazing techniques
A variety of beautiful Glazing techniques
In Saideigama we have the privilege to be able to produce around 160 different types of color samples. Participants can easily refer to them when they are about to chose the desired color for their creations. We also keep about 50 different types of glazing. (Color and glazing variety are two elements which we are very proud of.)
A variety of clays and other materials
We have 13 different types of easy to use clay, a ariety which can not be found in other shops. Additionally, except from clay we have a big range of pigment and other decorations types.
Flexible schedule and pace
Flexible schedule
Normal pottery shops have lectures on designated times but Saideigama because of its individual guidance programs and flexible operating hours allows people to visit freely. In other words Saideigama is a place where someone can continue his hobby in the long run based on his personal needs and his lifestyle.
A variety of membership courses
Members, either beginners or experienced, can choose a course that fits their lifestyle and personal needs. Precise and fulfilling courses are Saideigama’s greatest reason for pride.
Open-mindedness and friendliness: a nice atmosphere
Based on an excellent curriculum, people can speed up their creation process and advance at their own pace through individual guidance. Our way of thinking and policies are not strictly set on tradition. This becomes the base for a friendly and open minded classroom atmosphere. Most pottery shops are “dark” and old fashioned but we would like to believe that our classrooms are warm and friendly. Pottery making is a spiritually fulfilling activity, which has become the purpose of Japan’s best ceramic workshop source: Saiedeigama Exhibition 2006
A large number of firings A shop where the head is an artist at the first line A place noticed and covered by the media

Weekly firings (main firing: 3 times, biscuit firing: twice a week). Every week's works are being baked at a rhythm that reaches up to 240 times per year. Baking only once every 2 or 3 months, as some pottery shops do can easily make you forget which type of glazing you have used. However, our baking frequency is another thing which Saideigama is proud of.

Nakano Taku is a first class artist who continuously creates his objects of art and through his original techniques, leads the group. Sophisticated and refined ceramics are created in the classrooms. There are undoubtedly not many pottery workshops where ceramic artists can directly lead and teach the participants.

Saideigama becomes the center of reporter's attention almost every month. Our techniques and especially our creations are very much appreciated by the press.
A place with many distinctive points Nice and modern and classrooms Easy to reach facilities

Dirty, dusty, uncomfortable, old-fashioned...this is not our style...where there's usually silence...we prefer listening to Jazz...
From June 2007, we have moved to Gyotokuekimae. It is only 23 min away from the station on foot. Parking space is also available.
