Electric wheel - One day trial

Class pace

Saideigama's visitors and members can experience the pleasure of creation through the Electric wheel - One day trial course. This course allows people to become familiar with clay while having fun. Since several courses take place every season everyone is welcomed to try them over and over again. There are several membership types as well.
Members: Admission fee ¥500 (valid for 2 years from the admission day)(there is a visitor's charge on the first day).

Electric wheel

Learning through the electric wheel. Enjoy pottery making through the use of the electric wheel. Generally, 2 kg of clay can produce around 5 or 6 items. Members can choose the item of their preference from those 5or 6 pieces of work.

Duration: around 1 hour (10 min instructions, 60 min practice)

Class capacity: 13 people

Charges: Visitor ¥5.500yen, Member ¥4.500yen

Glazing: White (visitors only). For any other glazing preference an additional charge of 500yen is necessary.Additional pieces of work: For any additional work, an additional charge of ¥2.000 is necessary.
Additional Items: For those who wish to use a handle an additional charge of ¥1.000yen is necessary.

From June 2007 we have moved to better and wider facilities. An open air room is the best space to experience pottery making.

～The pace of the class～


After some instructions about the sitting positions and the wheel’s operation you can start immediately! Do you think you can do it?	Even if you make a mistake that’s ok...our instructors will be there to assist!	There you go! I made it! Does it look like a cup for Soba noodles? Perhaps I should try to make a small Shochu cup.

Taking things seriously!	They are concentrating too!	Such a nice work! Never thought it was possible!
